Church Life.

A church for everyone.

There are many ways you can connect with the life of the church.

GET CONNECTED

Midweek Groups

We don’t just want to be a big gathering on a Sunday.  We want everyone to have Christian friends to do life with.  For this reason we run midweek groups.  Different groups have different aims, like Young Adults, Young Families, or a specific geographic area like Bayston Hill.  Or others are much more general in scope with different ages and stages from all over gathering.

Our desire is that everyone in our Church has a group they can call their own as a primary encouragement to live out their daily faith, and also to be a support and help when life is hard.

If you’d like more information please do get in touch!

Children & Youth

We have lots going on for our Children and Young people.

  • On Sundays we have a crèche room for parents with under 2s to be with their children and play in a safe environment. There is a video link to the main meeting.

Kingdom Tots is our 2-4s group who enjoy age appropriate play and learning.

Kingdom Kids is for 5-11s and have a fun packed programme that includes games, object lessons, bible stories and learning how to hear from God for themselves.

  • Rooted is a group for school years 7-9 to explore the bible and living out faith as a young person in the world today.

  • A youth group on Friday evenings for young people aged 11-18 years. For details of our vibrant youth programme please email impact@barnabas.church or follow us on Instagram @impactshrewsbury.

  • We have a friendship group for Christian Mums with pre-school children which includes prayer support, sharing resources and social events. For more information about connecting with this group, please get in touch with the church office.

  • We have a strong commitment to safeguarding in our Church with relevant people trained and DBS checked. You can see our policy here

Prayer.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests”

Ephesians 6:18

We believe prayer is the key which will unlock doors to the Kingdom of God coming in reality and power in our church, in our town and beyond.

We pray in our midweek groups and in every Sunday morning meeting.

In our Sunday meetings there is a prayer ministry team who are available to pray with you either in response to something you have heard that morning or for any requests you have.

There are also regular prayer meetings on Wednesday (8am), Thursday (6.30am) mornings, and Sundays (9.30am & 7pm).

We also have a “Prayer Army” who receive weekly updates and reminders of things to pray for.

During the year we will connect with and run other creative prayer times.  Keep an eye on the noticesheet for details.

If you’d like to find out more about our prayer initiatives, we’d love to chat to you! Please get in touch with the church office.

Worship.

We love to worship Jesus together. This is an important part of our main Sunday services.

The children stay in for the first three songs so we can worship as the whole family together. We play a mixture of contemporary songs and some traditional hymns. We believe that as we worship different members of the Church may have things to share to encourage everyone like bible verses, stories of what God has done or other spiritual gifts so we give space in our meetings for these to be shared (1 Cor 14:26-27).

Bible Teaching.

We are committed to teaching God’s word every week, but we also have Sunday evening seminars looking at key areas and digging deeper into the word.

Sunday Talk Catch Up.

Missed a talk? Don’t worry you can catch up on all the latest Sunday talk podcasts here or on your favourite podcast platform, or visit our YouTube channel to watch anytime.

Getting Involved.

If you would like to join our Church you can email the office or fill in a form when you visit.  We will add you to our email list and also invite you to the next newcomers event called “Introducing Barnabas”, as well as a newcomers lunch one Sunday.

We encourage people to find their place in the Church through attending our main meetings and joining a midweek group.  We encourage people as they become more involved to join us in praying, giving financially and serving in the life of the Church.

We would love a conversation with you about the kinds of things on your heart and how we as a Church might be a place for you to grow in your gifts.
